The Item Rotation page is dedicated to configuring the default orientation for all items within your project. A prominent feature of this page is the large preview window at the top, providing a visual representation of how items will appear with the applied rotation settings.

About the Preview

The preview window employs arrows and their colors to depict how the configured dynamic value affects item rotation, providing an intuitive visual cue. It’s important to note that this preview does not replicate the exact placement or arrangement of items within your actual pattern but aims to demonstrate the principle of rotation application based on the chosen settings.

When adjustments are made to the dynamic value settings, the label in the top left corner of the preview window updates accordingly. This label serves as a guide, indicating how the input correlates to the rotational effect displayed. For instance, choosing the input, which utilizes the X-position of items, updates the label to X→, signifying that the input values progress from left to right across the preview. This visual guide becomes particularly useful for less straightforward inputs like “item order,” where the order→ label clarifies that item sequencing is represented from left to right, aiding in understanding the dynamic value’s impact on rotation.

Adjusting Rotation Settings

Beneath the preview window, you’ll find controls for setting the dynamic value of item rotation. These settings allow for the customization of rotation angles, offering flexibility in how items are oriented on your canvas.

The dynamic value you configure on this page is the rotation angle between 0º to 360º. Naturally, values exceeding these extremes will simply wrap around and continue the rotation of the item.
